Is this what a miracle looks like?

A few minutes ago I posted on Twitter that I worked with some of the most impressive people in the world yesterday to change an old hangar in Brooklyn into the foundation of something incredible. I said thank you, but honestly, thank you can’t even begin to express what it meant to me.

We filled five, four-ton dumpsters with trash from decades of neglect at Hangar 1 in Floyd Bennett Field. Our team thought that it would take weeks on end to empty out the Hangar to start work on the renovation, but with thousands of hands, we’re ahead of schedule.

Every single one of you can be proud knowing that you’re going to change the world with what we did. Now, it’s almost five in the morning and I’m not even tired, I’m just excited by the possibilities that will come from this work.

And I hate to bring it up, but we almost had a catastrophe out there. One of the massive hangar doors fell off of its tracks and almost hit a few people working inside. By some miracle, no one was seriously hurt and everyone continued working toward our end goal.

Keep looking out for Easter (March 23rd, 2008), because it’s going to be a game-changer. The people who helped us already have their tickets.
